The walk to Emmaus is a spiritual renewal program intended to strengthen the local church through the development of Christian disciples and leaders..

  • What we do with our lives matters and the priorities we choice matter
  • The Grace of God is difficult to comprehend but fundamental to our personal growth
  • We believe all Christians are disciples each blessed with different skills
  • We believe we don’t have to accept the world as we know it and that we can change it
  • Perseverance is a fundamental human characteristic but Christians view it differently

What happens on the Walk to Emmaus?

Luke 24:15 “As they talked and discussed these things with each other, Jesus himself came up and walked along with them”.

  • Every person on the walk is prayed for by name every minute of the 72 hours they are on the walk
  • There are 15 talks delivered over the 3 days with strong references to the Bible
  • Volunteers serve three meals, morning and afternoon tea an abundance of food for all.
  • Three church services are held by the Emmaus community during the walk where prayer and thanksgiving are the focus
  • During the walk you will be left in no doubt that God loves you as you look into the eyes of people you know and strangers who come together simply to show you Gods love.

Can anyone attend a Walk to Emmaus?

The short answer is yes but you will need a to be recommended by a current Emmaus community member. We do it this way because the person who recommends you has certain responsibilities they need to accept to make your three days at Emmaus special.
